GÜNTER PRANGE, MEPPEN: AS PIGEON FORGES FOR THREE DECADES

Günter prange has been a pigeon fancier for 45 years and has been a regular among the German champions for 16 years. His goal has always been to breed the exceptional pigeon. Over the years, he acquired his ability to judge a pigeon by visiting the top strikes, talking shop with the breeders and repeatedly studying the characteristics of the pigeons. So he developed his own ideas about the appearance of an exceptional pigeon; he still holds on to this today, even if he sometimes selects a wrong one.

The pale delbars
When the first real ace pigeon family was created on the field Prange was - how could it be otherwise - a little bit of luck. Günter had a refuge from Belgium at the end of the 1960s. It was a striking pale bird that he reported immediately. As it turned out, it was a pigeon from the world-famous breeder Maurice Delbar from his equally famous "Fahlen No. 9". The pigeon was picked up, but returned to Meppen after four weeks. This time Günter was allowed to make a clutch and bred the Pahl with the number 825. Since Günter had no other Delbar pigeons, he got some youngsters from the German breeder Goschalla from his Delbar line. Among them was the female "761", which Günter considered suitable to mate with the "Fahlen 825". The first real breeding pair was born on the field by G. Prange. What the couple's sons were flying was just incredible.

Her best son was the "51" v. 74. Günter mated him to the female "173" BC 82, also from Delbar descent. Of course G. Prange had found fun with the Delbar pigeons by now and got more on his stroke.

The "Fahle 51" with the "173" formed the second absolute top pair and bred numerous exceptional pigeons in the 80s, which contributed to the achievement of the 1st German Championship in the 8th district. 1987, 1988 u. 1989 were significantly involved.

Perhaps your best son, "Fahle 207" v. 83, became 1st Asvogel, FRG, in July 1987. His son became 2nd Asvogel at the federal level in the same month.

In 1993 Günter mated the "Fahlen 207" to his own sister, the "721" v.84, and pulled the pale female "665" v.93 from it. Coupled with the "Ringlose" she brings the "Fahlen 802" from 99, the 1st Asvogel, FRG, 2001! The "Ringlose" comes from the "NL 959" v.94, a son "Beatrix-Doffer" from Koopman, with the "893" v.94, a To. of the "Fahlen 722" (full letter of the "Fahlen 207"). In just five generations, we skip the period from 1970 to the present: "Wahle 825"? "Pale 51"? "Pale 207"? "Pale 665" W? "Pale 802"! More Delbar birds from the closer or further relatives from the pale line become ace pigeons at the federal level and in the district: the "193" v.83 is 5 years old. Vogel 2. As-Vogel FRG 1988. His son, the "467" v. 92 turns 16th As-Vogel FRG 1995 and 9th As-Vogel FRG 1996! The "858 v. 86, also a Delbar bird, becomes 3 times 2nd ace bird in the 8th district and 9th ace bird FRG 1990 and represents the German colors at the Olympiad in Verona.

The Koopman pigeons
Another G. Prange family of ace pigeons has dominated the national honor lists recently. It is that of "NL 959", son "Beatrix-Doffer" from Koopman, or his best son, the "Ringlose".

G. Prange is always on the lookout for the passers-by for his Delbar variety, in 1994 he brought some youngsters from the Dutch masterclass C.u.G. Koopmann. there were very good pigeons among them, but an outstanding one, the "NL 959" from 94, the son of the Beatrix-Doffers. Günter paired him with the To. of the "Fahlen 722" and moved the "146" v. 96. This exceptional athlete had been on the Ace pigeon course for a year and had already won the 1st prize 6 times by July 1997 before it was stolen with other widowers shortly before basketing.

Günter then bred the "Ringlos" from the same pair, whom he did not open a ring because he was so late; the superior performance of his brother probably saved his life. He thanked his owner with an extraordinary heredity. with the "Fahlen 665" he bred the "Fahlen 802", 1.Asvogel FRG 2001. A daughter of the "Ringlose", the "704" v. 99 brings the "1011" v. With a Koopmann bird to Beumer-Sandbothe. 2000, 1. As-Vogel FRG 2002; finally he brings himself again, this time with a grandchild. "Zitter" by Koopmann the "1009" v. 2001, 2nd Asvogel FRG 2003!

The son "Beatrix-Doffer" also brings exceptional pigeons with other females; with a Bellens hen, e.g. the "330" and the "1". The "330" v. 97 turns 27th Ace bird FRG 2000 and 1st Ace bird FRG June 2001. That year he could have been ace bird, but unfortunately he injured himself after the 10th flight and could not be seated. In his career, the "330" has written a total of eight 1st bankruptcies!

In the meantime Günter gets feedback from all regions into which he has given pigeons of the success of the offspring of the "NL 95
